EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Discover the healing power of rhythm in this Restorative Rhythms Drum Circle, a unique wellness workshop designed to reconnect body, mind, and spirit through sound and movement. Participants will embark on an interactive rhythmic journey using Djembes (West African hand drum) and other percussion-based instruments, exploring how rhythm can move beyond simple auditory stimulation to become a deep restorative experience within the body.

Guided by Lyle Povah, a renowned drum circle facilitator, you’ll be invited to tap into the natural rhythms that foster balance, release, and connection.

  • No musical experience needed

  • All drums provided (or bring your own)

  • 🧡 Designed for adults (19+)

Bring yourself and an open, curious mind. This inclusive space welcomes all abilities, with modifications provided so everyone can join in co-creating rhythm to foster community and well-being.

ABOUT THE DRUMMING:

Drumming has been used across cultures and centuries as a tool for healing, connection, and celebration. In this session, the Djembe (African hand drum) becomes a bridge, connecting us to our breath, to the earth beneath us, and to each other. Through guided rhythm, improvisation, and shared pulse, you'll experience drumming not just as music, but as medicine. No experience is required, Lyle’s facilitation style is intuitive, inclusive, and heart-led. Whether you’re new to drumming or have been playing for years, you’ll find a welcoming rhythm to join.

WHAT TO BRING:

Just bring yourself but some optional items you may find useful:

  • Water bottle

  • Pen and paper for journaling

  • Your own drum (if you have one)

This immersive experience offers a space to reconnect with yourself, align with nature’s rhythms, and celebrate the fullness of who you are. Don’t miss this chance to relax, unwind, and discover the power of rhythm. We look forward to sharing this special experience with you!
